Sexy Taco is Back!

Harlem restaurateurs Chef Brian Washington Palmer and Nikoa Evans, are “bringing sexy back” to Strivers’ Row by reviving Sexy Taco, their California street food brand in the former Ruby’s Vintage Space. The restaurant group completely revamped the space to create an entirely new vibe with its signature eclectic decor; a delicious menu of tacos, burritos, and other yummy bites; and a festive and sexy offering of cocktails. The move allows the group to take advantage of the growing nightlife scene developing on Upper 7th Avenue in Harlem while bringing back a beloved brand to their loyal customers.

We recently stopped by on a #TacoTuesday to embrace the revamp and enjoy some sexy tacos, luscious cocktails and provocative tunes. Of course we started with guacamole and chips, the classic app. It was creamy and served with jalapeno slices for kick of heat. Copy our order for a meal that will have you returning every week:

-Korean beef tacos, fish tacos, bang bang shrimp tacos

-Mango margaritas, classic margaritas, frozen margaritas....and did we mention margaritas?

The NEW Sexy Taco offers a selection of customized tacos, bowls and burritos with fillings that include options like Cuban Chicken, Beef Birria, and Vegan Chorizo; and sexy cocktails that include the Hurricane Ceasar and the Fire Negroni. The decor completes the atmosphere with tiled floors, vintage wallpaper coverings, a mural of Chaka Kahn anchoring the back wall and the bar’s signature flamingos and classic kitsch on display throughout the space.

“The pandemic forced all businesses to reassess their operations, brand positioning and the way in which their audience's preferences may have evolved during the last 18 months. As the city and country reopens with renewed energy, people are venturing out and seeking experiences that offer a fun and festive way to socialize with friends and family while being safe. Sexy Taco is a familiar brand to the community that represents that fun, celebratory energy and was best suited for our new strategy,” said Evans.
