The 116th Street Festival/Puerto Rican Festival Saturday, June 8th 2013 106th St and 3rd Avenue to 116th St and 3rd Avenue

The sounds, flavors and dancing of Puerto Rico come alive in the streets of East Harlem at the kick-off event to the Puerto Rican day parade.

Mount Morris Park Historic Brownstone Tours Sunday, June 9th; 11:00am-4:00pm Tour Starts at The Pelham Fritz Community Center, 18 Mount Morris Park West, New York, NY

Join this year’s tour called “Details: Architectural. Artistic. Authentic,” featuring landmark architecture around the Mount Morris Park section of Harlem. Head to the event website to reserve tickets in advance.

Harlem Book Fair 2013: New Voices, New Visions Friday, July 19th, 2013 (7pm) & Saturday, July 20th, 2013 Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture; 515 Malcolm X Blvd, New York, NY 10030

Need to cozy up with a new book? This year’s book fair promises to leave you satisfied. Now in its 15th year, the fair will showcase works from local writers with a special Phillis Wheatley awards show Friday night.

Harlem Week

Description: The history and deep-rooted culture of Harlem come alive during Harlem Weeks annual summer-long festival. For over 40 years, Harlem lovers and newcomers celebrate the essence of the neighborhood kicking off in July at Grants Tomb through to Harlem Day in August. Events also include A Great Day in Harlem, a day-long family fun festival filled with food, concerts, arts & crafts, a fashion show, vendors, career recruitment, exhibitions and so much more!

Looking for something the entire family can enjoy? El Barrio’s annual street fair is just that! Afro Puerto Rican foods and musicians take to the streets in this cultural celebration.

Dance Theatre of Harlem’s outdoor annual street festival returns equipped with performance showcases, arts & crafts, vendors, food and entertainment galore.

Studio Museum–Uptown Friday Nights Friday, July 26, August 9 & 23; Time: 6:00pm–10:00pm Studio Museum – 144 W. 125th Street

This July and August come explore the current exhibitions at the Studio Museum with guided tours. Mingle while enjoying fab cocktails and food in the Atrium Café, not to mention the great live music at the Studio Museum courtyard.
